Explanation of charges for homeopathic cases: Please Read!

If you are like most of us, one of the first things you want to know is what the cost will be to you. While we all agree that helping your pet is the most important thing, we want to address this question early on and as completely as we can. Spelling everything out like this can give the appearance that we are money oriented. Please understand that we are a business and must be paid for our services in order to continue. However, the purpose of this explanation is primarily to make clear to you our expectation of you as a client. Hopefully, addressing this issue now will prevent any misunderstanding later on and make it easier for you to plan within these parameters.

Here is how our practice charges for homeopathic consultation:

Homeopathic practice is different from the usual veterinary services in that it is much more time intensive. Rather than emphasizing charges for medicines, vaccinations and surgery like most veterinary services, we charge for actual time spent on the case. This seems to be the fairest method for both our clients and for us.

Our charges include: phone consultation time, office visits, consultations (if needed) with your regular veterinarian, evaluation records x-rays, laboratory data and case analysis time. Case analysis time is the time needed to develop the treatment plan, prescribe the medicine and monitor the progress.

Other information you should know:

• The initial consult is approximately one hour. Charges for homeopathic consults are determined by the veterinarian time spent on assessing the case and determining the remedy. The charge for the initial consult is $235.00
• The charges for remedies and supplements are in addition to the consult fee.
• Follow-up consultations are normally around 15 minutes with a corresponding charge of $56.70. This includes follow-up consults by phone.
• Homeopathic remedies are relatively inexpensive. Single dose remedies (the most common method), for example, are $13.00. Standard Process supplements (nutritional and glandular) are usually between $12.50 - $23.66.
• All charges are to paid at the time of the visit. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
• Appointments are required for the initial consult as well as follow-up assessments.
• A credit card number is required for all telephone consults.

If you have any questions regarding the above policies, please give us a call and we will be glad to explain in greater detail. For the initial consult, please arrive 15 minutes early so the appropriate paperwork can be taken care of. Please bring complete copies of the written medical records detailing past treatments.
